TCU News Now
TCU News Now is the award-winning student-produced newscast from the Schieffer School of Journalism. News Now has been around since 2004.
Students come up with the ideas for the stories then report, shoot, write and edit them under the direction of a faculty adviser. Newscasts run continuously on TCU Cable Channel 24 and are available 24/7 on tcunewsnow.com.
Some of the major awards News Now has won:
- 2004 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award – best in the nation status – for non-daily television newscasts.
- 2005 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award – best in the nation status – Television In-Depth Reporting.
- 2008 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award Region 8 First place for TV feature.
- 2008 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award Region 8 First place for TV news reporting.
- 2005 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award – Region 8 First place – for non-daily television newscasts.
- 2005 TIPA (Texas Intercollegiate Press Association) First Place Television, non-feature.
