Internships
Nothing looks better on a journalism school graduate’s resume than professional work experience.
That’s why we at the Schieffer School encourage all our students to invest their time and energy in a professional internship before graduation. And that’s also why we’re so grateful to the professionals who share their workplaces and wisdom with our majors to give them the kind of learning experience not found in a classroom.
Internships are invaluable for all our majors: Strategic Communication, News-Editorial and Broadcast Journalism. Academic credit is available for those who qualify.
Career Services Internship Scholarships
Career Services is pleased to introduce a new program for students planning to accept an unpaid or low paying (less than $1,000) internship this summer. The program provides scholarships to assist with expenses and help support student’s efforts in career preparation. Interested students should make application through FrogJobs: https://careers.tcu.edu/gaining-experience.html. Scholarships will be awarded by an Advisory Council established for this purpose.
